ORAL ACTIVITY: Seasons and Clothing

 In this activity, different cards will be presented with representative images of the seasons of the year (spring, summer, autumn, winter) and different items of clothing associated with each season (scarf, swimsuit, hat, etc.). We will show them in the classroom and it is explained that next they will talk about the appropriate clothing items for each season of the year. Divide students into small groups. In each round, select one station card and one garment card. One student in the group should talk about why that item of clothing is appropriate or inappropriate for the selected season. After a set time, rotate the cards to another group to continue the discussion. It must be debated among the students, in order to find different points of view and thus enrich ourselves with the topic to work on. In addition, questions can be asked to facilitate this activity, such as:  Why is it important to wear a scarf in winter? What kind of clothes would you wear in summer to stay coo...

READING ACTIVITY: The Seasons Adventure Crossword

 This activity will be based on the development of reading and vocabulary skills in English about the seasons of the year by solving an exciting interactive crossword puzzle. This activity not only reinforces vocabulary and reading skills, but also incorporates technology in an interactive way to make learning more dynamic and participatory. ACROSS: 2. They cover trees in autumn before falling to the ground. 4. The hottest time of the year, when we all enjoy the sun and have fun on the beach. 5. Specific clothing to enjoy the water in summer. 6. Worn around the neck for warmth in winter. 7. The season when the trees change color and the leaves fall to the ground. DOWN: 1. You can find them in the spring, they are colorful and fragrant. 3. The season when snow covers the ground and we can make dolls in the garden. 5. The season when the days become longer, the temperatures rise, and we see many flowers.

WRITING ACTIVITY

  Hi! This activity encourage creative written expression about the seasons by creating postcards.  Brief descriptions of each season of the year are presented with the aim of inspiring ideas. Next, images are distributed to the students and they are encouraged to create their own postcard, making a brief creative description of the chosen season.  To do this, and being inspired by the image provided by the teacher, they will create their own.  So, students share their creations with the class, explaining the design choices and inspiration behind their writing.

LISTENING ACTIVITY

 The listening activity consists of improve listening comprehension related to the seasons of the year. A video will be projected in which different sounds related to the seasons of the year are played: autumn, winter, spring and summer.
